80369-2 - Introduction
ISO 80369-2 (Small bore connectors for liquids and gases in healthcare applications — Part 2: Connectors for breathing systems and driving gases applications) is still in preparation as of May 2017.
However, various standards committees are clearly considering whether they will adopt these connectors as the standards they have responsibility for come up for review.
This page will attempt to keep track of which devices are likely to be affected by the standard when published.
ISO TC 121/WG1
ISO working group TC 121/WG 1 (Respiratory therapy devices and accessories) has agreed that the fir tree connector will not be replaced by one of the 80369-2 connectors as it is impractical; instead their view is that the tubing at the patient end should utilise one of the new connectors.
